Assistant Headteacher (Years 4-6)
At Oswald Road Primary School we aim to provide the highest quality care and education for all our children thereby giving them a strong foundation for their future learning. We create a safe and happy environment with motivating and enjoyable learning experiences that enable children to become confident and independent. We value the individual child and work alongside parents, carers and others to meet their needs and help every child to reach their full potential.
For homework, we ask that the children read every day and practise their times tables on TT Rockstars as often as possible.
Spelling booklets will also be sent home at periodic intervals.
You may find the following documents helpful when reading with your child:
Outdoor PE – shorts and jumper/sweater, t-shirt and trainer (jogging pants can be worn in very cold weather). Please ensure that your child’s name is on each item and they wear their PE clothes in to school that day as they will not get changed for PE.
Swimming will take place each week for all Year 4 classes. Children need swimming trunks (not swimming shorts) or a costume, a towel and a hat. All children must wear hats if their hair can cover their mouth or eyes. Children will not be able to wear goggles (the health and safety requirements of Manchester Swimming Team).
Please make sure your child’s name is on their lunchbox. All lunchboxes are kept in the classroom.
Coats and bags should be put in the cupboards provided in the classroom. Please name your child’s coat.
Years 4 children are to walk up to class by themselves by 8:40am. At the end of the day, they are to be collected from the main playground- parents should wait near the black pitch area.
Drop-Off: 8.30am – 8:40am
Our PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) time will be on Wednesday afternoon and covered by Ben Caldwell, Kieran Bentley and Nicky Appleby.
