Oswald Road Owlets – 2 and 3 Year Old Nursery Provision

We are delighted to announce that we have launched a brand new Nursery provision at Oswald Road Primary School for 2 and 3 year olds.

We’ve created a purpose-built, state-of-the-art early years environment designed specifically for children of this age. In response to growing demand for high-quality childcare for two year olds in the local area, our Nursery provides up to 42 places in a welcoming and inspiring setting for children to begin their learning journey.

Our single-storey Nursery building has been thoughtfully designed to provide generous, open-plan spaces where the children will feel at ease exploring. Every detail has been carefully considered, allowing the children to move freely between activities and different areas, designed to encourage creativity and play-based learning.

The Nursery also includes a covered outdoor activity area, allowing children to play and learn outside in all weathers, as well as a dedicated Nursery playground created specifically for early years development. Children will also enjoy access to our Owl Garden, a green, outdoor learning space that encourages exploration and connection with nature.

The Nursery is led by an experienced and passionate Early Years team who are committed to providing exceptional care and education. The staffing team is headed by a Lead Teacher (Mrs Turton), Teacher (Mrs Cleary) and a Lead Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Miss Nash), ensuring strong leadership and consistent, high quality practice. Our staff understand just how important the earliest years are in shaping your child’s development. They will work closely with families to build strong relationships, respond to individual needs, and ensure every child is supported to thrive and reach their full potential.

Owlets operates all year round, with flexible before and after school options, plus access to holiday clubs to support working families.

We are currently full and are therefore not taking any further applications for the September-December 2027 term. New expression of interest forms coming soon- if you’d like to book a tour of Owlets, please email admin@oswaldroad.manchester.sch.uk

Owlets Attendance and Absence Procedures

If your child is unable to attend Owlets, please let us know as soon as possible.

Reporting an absence

Please contact the Owlets team via Tapestry before 9am if your child is going to be absent.
Please inform the Owlets team in advance of any planned holidays or appointments.

If we haven’t heard from you
If we do not receive a message about your child’s absence, the Owlets team will attempt to make contact with you:

Day 1: We will contact you via Tapestry and then make two phone calls.
From Day 2: If we have not heard from you, we will continue to make contact via Tapestry, email and telephone.
If we are still unable to make contact: A member of the wider school team will complete a home visit to check that everything is okay.

These procedures are in place to help us make sure that all of our children are safe and accounted for.
