Afterschool Clubs

Afterschool Clubs

At Oswald Road, we have a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs on offer. Please see below drop down sections for the list of clubs currently available and the contact details for each club, along with FAQs.

Please take care to direct any queries to the right email address to ensure they are dealt with promptly.

If your child attends a club run by an external provider, please ensure you email them directly with any pick-up messages or absences.

In addition to our regular clubs, teachers may also run their own clubs from time to time. These are free to attend and sign up is usually via a short Google Form. Any information will be sent via Parent Mail.

Clubs - Further Information

  • Club Pattern

Clubs follow the same pattern every school year. Clubs do not run on the first week of each full term and the last week of the school year. Clubs run as normal after every half term holiday right up until the Christmas and Easter holidays.

  • Full Term/Half Term

Please check the Clubs Timetable above for an at-a-glance view of which clubs run for a full term and which clubs take bookings on a half-termly basis.

Sportspoint, We Are Adventurers, Spanish and Bricks4Kids are the only external clubs that take bookings every half term. All other external clubs run for a full term.

Dance Academy and Netbusters always run for a full term.

Year 6 Girls’ Code Club runs for a full term.

Multisports and Girls’ Football run on a half-termly basis.

  • Club Times and Pick-Up Information

With the exception of Year 6 Girls’ Code Club and Yoga Club, all clubs take place after school.

All afterschool clubs except the following run from 3:30pm-4:30pm.

    Multisports runs from 3:15pm-4:15pm.

    Comedy Club runs from 3:15pm-4:45pm.

    Girls’ Football runs from 3:30pm-4:15pm.

Press Gang (Year 5) runs from 3:30-4:20pm.

School of Sport runs from 3:15-5:45pm.

Year 6 Girls’ Code Club runs from 12:30pm–1pm. If your child normally has lunch at this time, they will eat their lunch at 1pm.

Yoga Club runs from 8am–8:30am. Drop off is at the Owl Club entrance at 7:55am. If your child is in Owl Club, Owl Club will take your child to Yoga Club. If your child is not in Owl Club, please wait with your child until the Yoga Teacher collects them. The Yoga teacher will take your child to their class after the club.

Please note, external clubs will ask you to provide a pick-up password for your child.

    Pick up:

Pick up takes place for all clubs (except School of Sport) from the Astroturf pitch at the times specified above.

Parents to enter via Oswald Road gate.

School of Sport pick up is from the main School Office.

  • Booking and Payment

An email is sent to parents/carers every term detailing all the clubs on offer and booking information, including when bookings will open. Please ensure you book early to avoid disappointment as we do have high demand for club places. Some clubs take payment via Parent Pay, and some clubs have their own booking systems in place. Please refer to the booking emails for more detailed instructions. If you miss the booking deadline, please contact the club organisers directly to enquire about remaining places.

  • Confirmation of Places

Club leads will usually be in touch to confirm your child’s place. If you book a club via Parent Pay, please take that as automatic confirmation of your child’s place. For our internal free clubs, you will receive confirmation via Parent Mail. For Dance Academy and Netbusters, you will receive confirmation via an email and by being
added into a payment item on Parent Pay.

  • Emergencies

Please note that all external clubs are required to ask you for additional information about your child. This includes emergency contact details, a pick-up password and any SEND and health needs. Your child will not be able to attend the club unless you provide this information when asked.

  • Cancellations and Refunds

If you would like to cancel your child’s place on a club, or have any queries about refunds, please contact the club organisers directly, even if you have paid for the club via Parent Pay. For payment queries regarding Dance Academy and Netbusters, please contact finance@oswaldroad.manchester.sch.uk.
