2SF Blog Post: Boats

May 11, 2016 by Ellie Linton

On Wednesday and Thursday last week our class made boats. Our mission was to design and make a boat that would float on water and carry a Lego figure as a passenger. We had to think carefully about what we used to make our boats. We thought about what we had learnt in science when we learnt about the properties of materials. Most of our class used plastic for the base of their boat. Plastic was a good choice because it is waterproof and it floats on water. Most of our boats had a mast and a flag. We filled a paddling pool with clean, transparent water and tested our designs. We were pleased with the results.
