Year 6 Kingswood Residential
June 15, 2017 by Ellie Linton
Last weekend Year 6 went on their first residential school trip, to Kingswood Colomendy in North Wales. The children had an action-packed four days, with activities including the climbing wall, caving, nightline (a blindfolded obstacle course!), Jacob’s ladder, leap of faith, 3G swing, fencing and aeroball. The activities developed the children’s teamwork and resilience, and set a few pulses racing as they were challenged to face their fears! To wind down on their first evening the Year 6s had a film night, followed by a campfire on the Saturday night, and finally a disco to round off the amazing weekend!
“I liked the 3g swing because, when you pushed the string, you felt tension build up. When you went forward, you got butterflies. It was crazy!”- Zara 6KR
“It was good because, even if you were scared of something, you had the chance to try it and you were able to conquer your fears.”- Danny 6KR
“Kingswood was a good opportunity to come together and make friends. Everyone mixed up and worked together.”- Amara 6KR
