GETTING BACK TO NATURE
Year 1s went on an exciting trip to Lower Moss Educational Nature Reserve in Knutsford last week, as part of their science topic for this term. Lower Moss Wood has been an educational reserve and wildlife hospital for over twenty years. It has also provided a place where injured animals and birds can recover and rehabilitate, before returning to the wild.

YEAR 1 WELCOME NEW FEATHERED CLASSMATES
Year 1 pupils at Oswald Primary School welcomed some adorable visitors to their classroom this month. Mr Hearnshaw brought in some chicken eggs from home, which were then incubated in school. The chicks hatched over the May Day bank holiday weekend, and have since been living in each of the Year 1 classrooms at school.
Mr Hearnshaw said: “The children have loved seeing the eggs change and grow, from being in the incubator, hatching and then rapidly changing into the chicks they are today. They have all loved helping doing various jobs like changing water and feed, and each class has been excited when it’s their turn to have the chicks in their class.”

ST GEORGE’S DAY SPECTACULAR!
Today we celebrated St George’s Day by creating a huge St George’s flag in the playground, made up of pupils and teachers from Oswald Road. Year 6 pupils Cosmo and Edwin have also been busy making these deliciously patriotic cupcakes!
Pupils at Oswald Road Primary School were presented with certificates and wristbands this week, after taking part in a sponsored fitness circuit. The sponsored event was part of a visit from Olympic Athlete Hannah Whelan last month.Click here to read the full story
