BACK TO THE STONE AGE
February 16, 2017 by Ellie Linton
As part of their topic for this half term, ‘The Big Dig’, Year 3 took part in an exciting Portals to the Past Workshop to see what life was like in the Stone Age. The children got into character by dressing in furs and tatty brown fabrics, and spent the morning in the hall taking part in various Stone Age activities such as spear-throwing. The workshop then continued in the classroom, where they were taught how people in the Stone Age used different materials to hand-make their own tools and weapons.
“I really enjoying making cave paintings using different coloured chalk!”
“We learned which animals were respected and special and we hunted them. It was fun!”
“Clud was so funny and he taught us so many interesting facts about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age and showed us artefacts!”
